Rustic furniture is all about the materials. Each stick or stone is a work of art all on its own. The craftsman just tries allow their beauty to shine. When I started working with willow it felt like the first time I found out I could draw a picture. Something in the willow caught my spirit. The smell of it. The freedom of its curves. I was suprised to find out it is called Coyote Willow. These are picture of when the willow is green. The branches will turn a pretty purple over time. The willow is resting on a pine log frame. This is one of the most comfortable chairs I've built. You will see a lot more bent willow work from me. ~
